Various SOCAN members' music appears in the award-winning movie Brokeback Mountain. In addition to Rufus Wainwright's closing theme, "The Maker Makes," co-published by Put Tit On Music and Warner Chappell Music Canada Ltd., Terry Gadsden and Fred Kinck-Petersen had one of their songs, "I'll be Gone," published by De Wolfe Music, placed in the film as well. Brokeback Mountain recently earned three Academy Awards at the 2006 edition of the event, including best original score for composer Gustavo Santaolalla.
